Roof Donated to Baseball Team

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

VERSAILLES, Ohio - Versailles baseball coaches can now concentrate on training for a winning season instead of trying to stay dry.

Classic Products Inc. in Piqua donated one of their lifetime metal roofs to the Versailles baseball field rebuilding project.

“The project is being funded solely through fundraisers, donations, and volunteer labor,” said Classic employee and former Versailles baseball mom Sheila Liette. “Not only did the company come up with material, but it has become a team as several of us will work to install the roof.”

Todd Miller, president of Classic Products, said that part of the company’s responsibility as a local business is to give back to the communities where employees live.

“One of the foundations of our company is relationships,” Miller said. “That includes our local relationships as well as to our vendors and customers.”

This is a multi-stage project, based on the fundraising dollars, with plans to later add, among other things, a two-story building that will serve as a dugout and restrooms on the ground floor with storage and press box above.

Started in 1980, Classic Products Inc. manufactures metal press-formed roofing that looks like wood shakes, shingles and tile. It is made from recycled metal and has been proven to reflect away the sun’s energy, which keeps homes cooler in the summer. Classic sells through a network of independent dealers around the world and is one of five manufacturers recognized by the Metal Construction Association’s Certified Metal Roofing program.

Recent Windstorms

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Recent windstorms in many areas of the country have really taken a toll on traditional roofing shingles. In particular, it has been our observation that homes built in the last 15 or so years are unusually susceptible to roof damages from strong winds. We are not sure whether this is related to the quality of the roofing materials themselves, the overall home construction, poor ventilation, or perhaps a combination of things but we’re seeing it in any area of the country that has occasional windstorms of 50+ mph winds. It also may be related to the fact that many of these newer home developments have been in fairly open expanses of land.

The end result is that we have even heard from many homeowners who are now faced with roofing their homes for a third time in 10 – 15 years. One comment we frequently hear is “We don’t care how much it costs, we’re going to go with metal this time and stop having all of these problems and aggravation.”

At Classic Metal Roofing Systems, our products are continually tested and inspected to ensure that your home will have a wind resistant roof which will last for years and years, saving you the headaches that so many homeowners are experiencing with traditional roofing materials. Testimonial

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

We justed wanted to share the following unsolicited homeowners testimonial we received today!

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to tell how pleased we are with our new Rustic Shingle metal roofs that were installed by you company in March of this year.  The finished product is better than we expected.  It is a very unique looking roof.  Many people have stopped and commented how nice the roof looks.  Most think its slate or tile and don’t believe it when we tell them it is aluminum.  Folks are really impressed when I show them how the panels interlock and how they are fastened down.  They are also impressed with the fact that now old material went to the landfill and that the new shingles are 95% recycled aluminum.  The 120 mph wind rating also impresses people, especially with all the wind damage in our area the last 10 years.

Some frown when we tell them the cost, the favorite comment, “I can buy a lot of shingles for that money”.  But we like to tell them it’s an investment that we made for the last time.  For less money than a new Suburban would have cost us, we re-roofed 2, yes 2, buildings.  Better yet, our roofs have a lifetime warranty, use no gas, don’t need oil changes, tires, etc., and we will never have to replace it again, unlike a Suburban.

We were very pleased with the efficiency and quality of the work of our installation crew.  They were very knowledgeable of their work and how to install the product.  As you know, on the house the gables were finished with a scalloped edge, every end looks as if it were machine, not hand fitted.  Craftsmanship hasn’t died!!!!  They were glad when they got to the garage as that has the straight gable and ridge finish.  This is a good place for those of you looking for this type of roofing to see both styles of gable and edge finishing techniques in one place.

In closing, the only regret we have is that we didn’t know about Classic Metal Roofing Systems 13 years ago when we installed our LAST asphalt shingle roof!

Sincerely,

Satisfied Wisconsin Homeowners
