Fiscal Cliff Bill Extends Metal Roofing Tax Credit

The American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 includes a renewal of the tax credit for reflective metal roofing. Assuming the bill is signed by the President, homeowners who purchase rated metal roofs in 2013 will be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $500 based on 10% of the value of the materials.

Additionally, the bill makes the tax credit retroactive for homeowners who purchased roofs in 2012 as well.

The metal roofing tax credit was established for two reasons. First, in order to reduce our country’s dependence on non-renewable energy sources by keeping homes naturally cooler through the use of smart roofing technologies. And, second, in order to stimulate even greater employment in the fast-growing metal roofing industry.

Virtually all of our metal roofing systems incorporate heat-reflective technology to further enhance the energy efficiency of our roofs. Please consult with your local independent Classic Metal Roofing Systems dealer for more information on taking advantage of this valuable tax credit.
